SUMMARY:L4S Panel at IMSCOE Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:🌍 Global Fair Skill Flows\, Skill Recognition\, Talent Partnerships\, and Migration Skill Corridors  🌍 \n\n\n\nOn July 2nd the Link4Skills consortium hosted a vibrant panel at the 21st annual conference of IMSCOE (International Migration Research Network) in Lisbon\, Portugal. This event marked the first significant conference appearance for Link4Skills\, and it was well received. (The room was full!) \n\n\n\nJointly organised by L4S coordinator Izabela Grabowska (Kozminski University) and L4S partner Helen Schwenken (Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies\, University of Osnabrück)\, the event provided a valuable opportunity for researchers from around the world to exchange their thoughts and concerns on addressing global skill flows and migration challenges. The panel featured insightful discussions about skill recognition\, talent partnerships\, and migration skill corridors\, noting the critical role of “origin” countries in forging global skill partnerships with “destination” countries. It also highlighted the need for a “manifesto” on fair global skill flows\, a topic the L4S project is addressing. \n\n\n\nAlongside the two organisers\, the event also featured participation from the following Link4Skills consortium members: \n\n\n\n – Dr. Anna Triandafyllidou\, Toronto Metropolitan University \n\n\n\n– Dr. Marla Maruja Milagros\, Scalabrini Migration Center Philippines \n\n\n\n– Prof. Mary Setrana\, University of Ghana \n\n\n\n– Prof. Dr. Mehdi Lehlou\, Association Migration Internationale Morocco \n\n\n\n– Prof. Rajan Irudaya\, International Institute of Migration and Development India \n\n\n\n– Prof. Irina Lapshyna\, Ukrainian Catholic University Lviv \n\n\n\n– Prof. Dr. Godfried Engbersen\, Erasmus University Rotterdam \n\n\n\nThanks to all who participated and contributed to the vibrant discussions!
